Fund of £6,500 Raised By Bingo Players For Good Cause
December 4th, 2008Bingo has come up with the Long Sutton’s helping fund of £6,500 for good cause. On every Thursday and Saturday evening popular bingo sessions are being held by the Sutton Bridge and Long Sutton fundraisers at Long Sutton Church Hall. The profits from such series have been given to the various organizations at the end of the year.
In Long Sutton, £1,000 Cheques have been handed to Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance at St Mary’s Church; the Pilgrim Hospital in Boston; and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn, Long Sutton and Sutton Bridge Medical Centre. Peoples are running number of such gathering to raise the funds for charities by attractive prizes or motivating bingo players.
Hazel Phillippo is the main person who is actively organizing such events for a number of years. She said, “The bingo sessions give many people a night out and a chance to meet friends and acquaintances. The fact that we can raise money and give good donations to excellent organizations is an added bonus.”
Chris Brewis the Sutton Bridge councilor said, “Many people do a bit to keep the bingos running but without Hazel the whole thing would come to a full stop.”
